This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the statement of the ministry.

"The Romanian state will take additional security measures (sealing and monitoring) for vehicles transiting through Romanian territory to third countries in order to protect Romanian farmers who face difficulties due to the flow of Ukrainian grain," the ministry said.

At the same time, the Romanian customs will check all agri-food products from Ukraine, since they were previously found to have an excess of pesticide levels.

Earlier, Romanian Minister of Agriculture Petre Daya said that the European Commission (EC) is ready to consider the possibility of suspending grain imports from Ukraine until June 5 if Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary and Slovakia lift unilateral import bans.
