During the night of Wednesday, a parking garage collapsed in lower Manhattan in New York, USA. One person is dead and five people are injured, according to the American news site ABC7.

The floors of the three-story building on Ann Street collapsed around 16:15 p.m. local time, causing passing cars to collide. The parking garage is located at 57 Ann Street between Nassau Street and William Street.

The search in the rubble continued through the night to make sure no one was in any of the trapped cars in the garage, fire department chief John Esposito said. Due to the risk of breeding, drones and a robot dog have been used in the search operation, AP/TT reports.

Four of the injured people are being treated in hospital and their condition is reported to be stable.
