Calculations of multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) "Tornado-S" of the Western Military District attacked military facilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during the NMD. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

"According to intelligence, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have concentrated military equipment, weapons and ammunition to supply the grouping of their forces. The data of the scouts were confirmed by technical means of reconnaissance, after which the units of the Tornado-S multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) attacked the military facilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, "the website of the defense department says.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation also showed footage of the work of the Tornado-S, which shows how the complexes move into position and fire at the enemy.

The Russian military notes the high efficiency of the Tornado-S. According to them, "all targets are guaranteed to be destroyed, and intelligence reports the exceptional jewelry accuracy of the missilemen."

"Coordinates come to us, and we work specifically on these coordinates. We don't have sighting. Right on target. We also work on moving targets, on columns ... Well-coordinated actions of the calculation lead to an accurate defeat of the target ... Most of the work is done by the computer, it is responsible for guidance. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation also reported that the enemy is hunting for the Tornado-S within the framework of the NWO "with special frenzy."

"The enemy's fear of the Tornado-S is quite understandable. For the most modern domestic multiple launch rocket systems, the enemy is conducting a special hunt, "the materials of the military department say.

In order not to fall under the return fire of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Tornado-S crews quickly leave the firing positions after the volley, after which in a few minutes they can strike a new blow from another place. At the same time, missilemen never work in the same position twice and do not take cars to the same shelter.

"Given the range and mobility of the system, the chances of detecting it, and even more so hitting it, tend to zero. The calculations of "Tornado-S" are constantly changing positions. They are on duty around the clock, at any time of the day or night they are ready for combat work, "the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation explains.

Earlier, the high efficiency of the Tornado-S complexes in the NWO zone was noted by the chairman of the movement "We are together with Russia", a member of the main council of the administration of the Zaporozhye region, Vladimir Rogov.

"The appearance of the Tornado-S multiple launch rocket systems with guided missiles in the proper number makes it possible to hit enemy positions 100%. They have meter accuracy," he said.

According to him, the Tornado-S on the front line became a counterweight to the American HIMARS system, which the Armed Forces of Ukraine received from the United States.

Rate of fire and accuracy

Recall that the Tornado-S multiple launch rocket system was developed at the NPO Splav named after A.N. Ganichev.

In the materials of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, it is noted that the Tornado-S is designed to defeat both individual and area targets. In particular, the MLRS is capable of disabling and destroying "command posts, warehouses with weapons, ammunition and fuels and lubricants (POL), communication centers, air defense systems (air defense) and other important targets located at a great distance."

The Tornado-S complex is a deep modernization of the Soviet Smerch MLRS. The improvement, according to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, affected, in particular, ammunition, communications and control, which allowed the developers to "significantly increase the firing range, accuracy and firepower of this type of MLRS."

According to the Chief of the Missile Forces and Artillery of the Ground Forces of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant-General Mikhail Matveevsky, the advantages of the modernized MLRS, in addition to accuracy and range, also include a high rate of fire.

Like the Smerch, the Tornado-S has 12 guides for 300 mm caliber missiles.

High-precision projectiles "Tornado-S" receive data from the flight mission at the expense of a control unit created on the basis of a strapdown inertial navigation system (SINS). At the same time, each of the missiles can be assigned individual coordinates both in flight range and in trajectory.

According to the state corporation Rostec, the firing accuracy of the Tornado-S projectiles is 15-20 times higher than that of the Smerch MLRS.

The Tornado-S is also equipped with an "automated fire control system and launch preparation equipment."

"Thanks to this, information can be quickly received and processed, autonomous topographic reference of the combat vehicle and orientation on the terrain are also possible," Rostec explains.

The machine can be controlled both from the cab and with the help of a remote control, which allows you to work at a distance of several tens of meters from the MLRS. The use of such a remote control allows you to increase the security of personnel.

"Increase the effectiveness of the defeat"

According to the military expert, retired colonel Viktor Litovkin, the Tornado-S is significantly superior in its characteristics to the Smerch, including due to the automation of the control of the complex.

"In the" Tornado-S "there is an automatic binding to the terrain, calculations when aiming at the target are also automated. A lot of computer digital support systems were introduced into the complex, which made it possible to increase the effectiveness of hitting enemy targets, "the analyst explained in a conversation with RT.

The expert added that the Tornado-S can work in conjunction with drones.

"The UAV is in the air and transmits information to the battery about how the shells fired at the enemy fall. Depending on the information that it transmits, the fire is adjusted, and at several installations at once, because the Tornado-S MLRS battery consists of several launchers, "Litovkin said.

In turn, the candidate of military sciences Sergei Suvorov, in an interview with RT, noted that the high accuracy of the Tornado-S makes it possible to use shells more economically.

"To solve fire missions when using such complexes, much less ammunition is spent. For example, if earlier it was necessary to launch all 12 missiles to hit the target, now it is quite possible to get by with three or four missiles to solve the same fire task, "the expert said.

Sergey Suvorov added that in a number of characteristics, Tornado-S surpasses foreign analogues.

"The Tornado-S has an automated fire control system, during the modernization the range and accuracy were increased. We can say that the Tornado-S system surpasses foreign developments in some respects, "the expert noted.

The editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine, Igor Korotchenko, in a conversation with RT, said that today the domestic military-industrial complex is faced with the task of multiplying the production of such high-precision systems.

"It is necessary to increase the production of Tornado-S at least three times and saturate the Russian group taking part in a special military operation with these systems in the shortest possible time," the analyst concluded.
