In the book "Det förenchantade Östergötland" they dig deeper into the folklore of Östergötland.

"This is a mission we have had at Östergötland Museum in recent years, where we want to highlight the intangible cultural heritage – that is, thoughts, ideas and stories," says Björn Lilieblad, historian.

According to the authors, popular thinking and chuckles have also changed over time.

"For example, we have electric current, which means that we no longer interpret lots of oddities of shadows in dark corners, and better healthcare with real doctors instead of wise old men and women. In the long run, it has become much more rational thinking," says Björn Horgby, professor emeritus of history.
