This is reported by the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"The dramatic events taking place in Sudan cause serious concern in Moscow. We call on the parties to the conflict to show political will and restraint and take urgent steps towards a ceasefire," the statement said.

The ministry added that the Russian embassy in Khartoum operates in a mode of increased security measures.

There were no casualties among the Russian citizens in the Sudanese capital, the statement said.

Earlier, the Sudanese army said that fighter jets were striking rapid reaction force bases in the vicinity of Khartoum.

It also became known that the national television of Sudan stopped broadcasting after reports that there was a shooting at its headquarters.

It is noted that in the building where the Sudanese television is located, there are clashes between the military and rapid reaction forces.
