Imam Jalil does not disagree two on his piety, patience and asceticism, but he left followers militant some of them extravagant, and moderate some of them coexistence, stood in the face of the Mu'tazila and opposed them in the matter of the creation of the Qur'an.

The episode (2023/4/11) of the program "Reflections" shed light on the biography of Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal, the Arab Shaibani al-Baghdadi, who lived on the rent of two shops left to him by his father, and used to make a living by picking the fruit as a wage with farmers.

He was known for his charisma that attracted people to him in his life and attracted them to his doctrine after his death, based on asceticism, patience and adherence to belief.

In the time of al-Ma'mun and then al-Mu'tasim Ibn Hanbal stood in the face of the Mu'tazila and opposed them in the matter of the creation of the Qur'an, so he tested, and stuck to his words, and beat and imprisoned for two years and months. His uncle Isaac visited him in prison, and he said to his uncle, "I do not care about the prison, it is like my house, and I do not care about the sword, but I am afraid of a whisk with a whip that I do not have patience for", and one of the prison heard him and said to him, "It is only a whip, and then you do not know where the rest is located", so he told him. Some of his lovers came to him in prison with iced water and asked, "Whoever is in prison has this water?" He refused to drink it.

Al-Mu'tasim died and took over the caliphate Al-Wathiq who continued to support the Mu'tazila, but he took Ibn Hanbal out of prison and sent him not to live with me in a country. Ibn Hanbal was displaced in the country, and then he returned home in hiding, not going out, until Al-Wathiq died. Al-Mutawakkil assumed the caliphate and lifted the plight from the Sunnis, and did well to Ibn Hanbal.

One of them praised Ibn Hanbal for his patience and steadfastness, and Ibn Hanbal said to him, "But that is my brother Ahmad bin Nasr al-Khuza'i. He was once told that the people of heresy had multiplied, and he said, "There are funerals between us and them."

Ibn Hanbal, the muhaddith of the famous Musnad after the ordeal was lifted, lived for 22 years and was a friend of Imam Muhammad ibn Idris al-Shafi'i, who said:

They said, "Ahmad will visit you and you will visit him." I said, "Virtues do not leave his house."

If he visits me, it is thanks to him or I visit him, it is thanks to him, and the credit in both cases is for him

People were attached to Imam Ibn Hanbal, and he used to leave the prayer and the people would follow him, stand until they left and then walk alone to his house.

Ahmad ibn Hanbal died at the age of 77. Ibn Kathir says, "No creation gathered in ignorance or in Islam as it met at the funeral of Ahmad Ibn Hanbal."

Ibn Hanbal was quick to pardon those who offended him, he informed him in his prison that Al-Mu'tasim opened Amoriyah and forgave him and prayed for him. However, the Hanbalis of Baghdad were too radical after the death of their imam, attacking and intimidating violators. Others who were not as tolerant as the author of the doctrine relied on the doctrine of Ibn Hanbal.
