It is noted that deputies from the Socialist Party filed an appeal to the Constitutional Court of Moldova to protest the ban on wearing the Ribbon of St. George.

"The Constitutional Court decided: to partially satisfy the request of the authors of the appeal," RIA Novosti quoted the statement.

The court stressed that the prohibition applies only to acts committed for the purpose of justifying or glorifying the actions of military aggression, war crimes or crimes against humanity.

On April 19, 2022, Moldovan President Maia Sandu approved a ban on the use of the St. George ribbon, previously approved by the parliament. According to her, this had to be done so that citizens did not wear a "sign of war."

Later, the law enforcement agencies of Moldova assured that they would not use force against citizens who would wear the Ribbon of St. George on Victory Day.
