A report by The Hill published notes on the leak of US documents from the Pentagon, saying that they are the most important observations about this leak.

These observations were as follows:

1. The source of the leak is not yet clear, but U.S. officials have said Russia or pro-Russian elements are likely behind at least the first batch of leaks.

2. It is not yet clear if all material appearing online is original and reliable. Some say that even if the documents were original, some of the information contained in them may have been changed. For example, estimates of deaths among Russian troops in certain documents are much lower than those provided by U.S. officials.

What's in the files?

3. The contents of the documents resemble daily non-public updates from the U.S. military's Joint Chiefs of Staff, and appear to detail U.S. and NATO assistance to Ukraine, including notes on progress on arms assistance.

4. The contents also indicate that America was spying not only on Russian leaders, but also on Ukrainian leaders in an attempt to monitor the dynamics of the war.

5. Additional documents include analysis by U.S. intelligence agencies, based on classified sources, of Russia and several countries, and some material appears to show how America tracks Russian forces with satellite imagery and where the CIA recruits certain operatives.

America is spying on its friends

6. Other material suggests that America is spying on Israel and South Korea, including national security details about the Middle East and China.

7- Israel yesterday denied allegations in the documents that the leaders of its Mossad intelligence service encouraged its employees and Israeli citizens to participate in protests against the government's proposed judicial amendments.

8. A document details internal discussions among South Korean officials about U.S. pressure on Seoul to change its policy of not supplying weapons to Ukraine.

U.S. Department of Justice Begins Investigation

9. The U.S. Department of Justice opened an investigation, and U.S. officials began removing material from social media platforms.

10. The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense downplayed the concerns raised in the documents about Ukrainian ammunition supplies and air defense capabilities, saying "it is not a secret for anyone that Ukraine asks questions about aviation, tanks, ammunition and other things." However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that he and his top staff held a meeting on how to prevent the leakage of defense plans in the country.

11- A South Korean presidential official said South Korea planned to discuss the leak with Washington, but declined to confirm any details from the leaked documents.
