"In fact, the Total Dictation does not show the level of literacy of Russians, does not show any dynamics. It shows how dictation writers handled this particular text this year in the part in which they wrote. Writers can cope with one text better, with another - worse, "the expert explained.
He added that in the text there may be complex vocabulary words, rules that are not studied in school or are studied partially.
"The rules that are worked out in school are worked out quite fully and in detail, there are very few errors in the texts of the Total Dictation. - Few people confuse -zhi and -shi all write with "i", "o" and "yo" after hissing also do not cause any special difficulties. For example, punctuation in introductory words and words that are not introductory, signs on the border of parts of a non-conjunction sentence, spelling of adverbs - such topics that are little worked out in school, where the rules are quite complex - here the difficulties begin, "said Pakhomov.
The specialist recalled that courses are held to prepare for dictation: this is both an online school and offline courses. In addition, the interlocutor of RT advised those who want to increase their literacy level to read books.
"There is a direct connection with literacy: the more a person reads, the better he writes simply because he remembers how to write words correctly and gets used to good literary texts. Now there are many different courses: these are not only literacy courses, but also the ability to communicate. Communicate in such a way as to express your thought and the feelings of the interlocutor not to hurt. Plus, there are very popular science books about the language, there are festivals, there are podcasts about the Russian language. If a person wants to have a good command of the Russian language, you need to connect, so in no case should you limit yourself to school and university. Russian truth must be learned all your life," Pakhomov concluded.
Earlier it was reported that the most difficult for the participants of the Total Dictation, which took place on April 8, were the words "syzmalstvo" and "cardinally".
The text of the dictation of 2023 was prepared by the writer Vasily Avchenko, it is dedicated to the traveler, writer, researcher of the Far East Vladimir Arsenyev.
