"In a very short period of time, we witnessed repeated actions that were provocative in nature towards the People's Republic of China. Of course, China has the sovereign right to respond to these provocative actions, including conducting military maneuvers in strict accordance with international law," Peskov said.
Earlier, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said that the military exercises of the People's Liberation Army of China in the Taiwan region are a necessary measure.
The Chinese Armed Forces during military exercises around Taiwan worked out maneuvers to form positions of complete encirclement and containment of the island.
According to the Taiwanese military, 45 aircraft entered the identification zone of the island's air defense.
