After his hospitalization, Pope Francis was able to celebrate this Sunday the traditional Easter Mass, in front of nearly 100,000 faithful. During his blessing, the supreme head of the Church sent a very political message, especially on the situation in Ukraine. Words of peace that the faithful appreciated.

The Easter weekend was sunny in Rome. 100,000 faithful gathered in St. Peter's Square to follow the traditional urbi et orbi blessing. Pope Francis therefore officiated and reassured pilgrims around the world and as every year, his message was very political. Francis' first words were addressed to Ukrainians and Russians.

A Vatican policy of impartiality

A message that reflects the Vatican's policy of impartiality. Do not take sides to possibly be able to mediate between the antagonists. "Help the beloved Ukrainian people on the path of peace and spread the Easter light on the Russian people," Pope Francis said. In his message, he did not forget any crisis situation, from Syria to the Democratic Republic of Congo to Burma. Words of peace that the faithful appreciated.

"Peace is the most important thing because the arms race is of no use to anyone," said Stéphane, also delighted by the words of the supreme head of the Church. The pope has not forgotten the news either. He referred to the attack in Israel, which he said threatened dialogue between Israelis and Palestinians.
