• Bribes Stormy Daniels: the storm that came upon Donald Trump
  • US Trump, accused of 34 counts of falsification of documents that constitute an "illegal plot"

In her first television interview since Donald Trump's indictment on Tuesday, actress Stormy Daniels said that while she wants the former US president to be held accountable, she doesn't think he should go to jail.

"

I don't think his crimes against me are worthy of imprisonment. As for the other things he's done, if he's convicted, then without any doubt," Daniels, 44, told Piers Morgan on his Uncensored program, published Thursday.

Trump has pleaded not guilty to 34 counts of falsifying documents against him Tuesday in a New York court. Each charge carries a maximum penalty of four years in prison.

Trump's lawyer paid Daniels $130,000 before the 2016 presidential election to buy her silence when she wanted to go public with her alleged affair with the Republican.

During the interview, Daniels thanked the "love and support" she had received during this time and said that, when they read the charges against Trump, she was "shocked" that she thought "he was going to get away with it unaccountable."

In his opinion, "The king has been dethroned, he is no longer untouchable." "No one should be untouchable, no matter what their job description is, whether they are the president, they should be held accountable for their actions."

Asked if he would testify at the upcoming trial, Daniels said he would "absolutely." "It's discouraging, but I'm looking forward to it, I have nothing to hide. I'm the only one who has told the truth."
