Nybro Energi already has a plant consisting of a 5 MW battery. Now they are taking steps towards additional storage and have signed an agreement with the company Soltech for another battery, which will have an output of 12 MW.

"We are among the first energy companies in Sweden to invest in battery storage of electricity. We see that there is a market that we can work in and there will be a need for energy storage and to stabilize the grid, as there are more and more renewable sources, says Håkan Dahlgren, CEO of Nybro Energi.

The basic idea of storing electricity on batteries is to make the system less vulnerable, at times when, for example, electricity production from wind and solar power is low.
