A large northern half of the country will be affected Thursday by a rainy passage, after a still cold night in the east with frequent frosts, forecasts Météo-France. From Brittany to the Belgian border, after a morning under an overcast sky and frequent rains, the weather will become more variable in the afternoon, with alternating clearings and cloudy passages sometimes accompanied by waves.

Frequent showers from Hauts-de-France to Normandy

From the west of Hauts-de-France to Normandy, these showers will be more frequent and marked, a clap of thunder and falls of sleet will even be possible. From Pays de Loire and northern Nouvelle-Aquitaine to Burgundy Franche-Comté, Lorraine and Alsace, the sky will be very cloudy in the morning, but the rains will arrive in the afternoon. They will be more regular and marked from Centre-Val-de-Loire to the North-East.

In the south, despite some cloudy passages, sunny periods will dominate throughout the day. Minimum temperatures will still be low over the east of the country, with frequent frosts from the Grand-Est to Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and the Mediterranean hinterland with -3 to +1 degrees. They will rise elsewhere and between 1 and 6 degrees, or even 5 to 10 degrees on the coastal edges. The maximums will go from 9 to 14 degrees on the northeastern quarter to the Massif Central, from 15 to 20 degrees from Aquitaine to PACA, from 12 to 17 degrees elsewhere.
