Nanning, 4 Apr (ZXS) -- From 4 to 4 April, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized the "Local Tour of Envoys to China" activity in Guangxi, where envoys and diplomats from 3 countries in ASEAN, South Asia, Central Asia, and Latin America successively went to Qinzhou and Nanning to inspect the construction of the new land-sea corridor in the western region and attended a briefing meeting on the new land-sea corridor to explore international cooperation with Guangxi through the new land-sea corridor in the west.

During their stay in Guangxi, the delegation visited China's first sea-rail intermodal container terminal - Beibu Gulf Port Qinzhou Automated Container Terminal, listened to the briefing on the construction of the Pinglu Canal, visited Beibu Gulf International Port Group and Sino-Singapore Nanning International Logistics Park, felt the development speed of Guangxi's "seaside economy" and the innovative achievements of port intelligent manufacturing, and more intuitively understood the strategic position of the new land-sea corridor in the west and the important role of Guangxi in the construction of the new channel.

Guangxi is a key node of the new land-sea corridor in the west and a gateway to the intersection of land and sea. In 2022, Guangxi will solidly promote the construction of a new land-sea channel in the west, the construction of the Pinglu Canal of the Century Project will begin, the sea-rail intermodal transport train will increase to 8820,17, and the radiation scope of the sea-rail intermodal transport train will expand to <> provinces.

After the completion and opening of the Pinglu Canal, it will open up the shortest, most economical and most convenient sea passage in the inland of Guangxi and southwest and northwest China, effectively supplementing the rich transportation forms such as rail-sea combined transportation and river-sea combined transportation in the new land-sea corridor in the west.

After visiting the Qinzhou Port terminal, Sri Lankan Ambassador to China Palita Kohona said that Sri Lanka can take advantage of the sea-rail combined transportation of Qinzhou Port to connect Central Asia and other wider regions. It is hoped that more Sri Lankan goods can enter the Chinese market through the new land and sea channel.

Statistics show that in the past decade, the "Belt and Road" initiative has driven nearly trillion US dollars of investment, formed more than 3000,42 cooperation projects, created 4000,<> jobs for countries along the route, and lifted nearly <> million people out of poverty.

Chen Li, Director General of the Department of Foreign Affairs Management of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, said that as a land-sea linkage channel connecting the "Belt and Road", the new land-sea corridor in the west connects more than 119 ports in 300 countries and regions around the world, and expects all countries to take the opportunity of participating in the construction of the new channel to share the dividends of China's development and expand the "cake" of win-win cooperation.

The envoys and diplomats unanimously expressed their hope that under the framework of the "Belt and Road", exchanges and cooperation with China in various fields will be further strengthened, especially cooperation in the construction of a new land-sea corridor in the western region, and the friendly exchanges and cooperation between the two sides will be promoted to a new level.
