"We in the Bourgeois Cooperation and the Sweden Democrats choose to review this preliminary investigation," Jarl said during a press conference.

In 2019, it was discovered that the municipality's then digitalisation director was suspected of abusing his powers. Later, the municipality reported him to the police for breach of trust. In Norrköping's newspapers, Sophia Jarl said as recently as February this year that the municipality did not intend to pursue the matter further.

"Respect for citizens' tax revenues"

Today, however, Jarl says that she has gained deeper insight into the events and she believes that the digitalization director was aware that the department was suffering from large financial deficits, but still reported that the budget was in balance to the then municipal board.

The appeal will be submitted during the week and the municipal leadership concludes the message that was distributed at the press conference as follows: "Out of respect for citizens' tax money, it is reasonable for an appeal to be made."
