The issue of security in the Democratic Republic of Congo is a collective concern of the region," Kenyan President William Ruto said in Kigali. According to the Head of State, positive developments have been observed in one month, citing, in particular, the deployment of Burundian and Ugandan contingents of the East African force in North Kivu.

«

We are confident, he assured, that the region can stabilize the east of the DRC, "so that the presidential election in the country, scheduled for December this year, can take place peacefully.

At his side, President Paul Kagame also said he had noted progress in recent weeks. "I am hopeful that we can find a solution," he said, adding that he hoped the outside world would support African leaders in their actions.

This is President William Ruto's first visit to Kigali since his election last August. The meeting was also an opportunity to sign nine bilateral agreements between the two countries, particularly in the sectors of health, agriculture, new technologies and development.
