Despite the fact that a wolf was killed on March 21 following a cull order, the problem of other wolves still exhibiting unwanted behavior remains.
Animal owners in the area are still concerned that the presence of wolves could harm their domestic animals after a stillborn calf was found in a cow pasture in the area in mid-March.
Wolves belong to territories from Loberget
The previously felled wolf has been shown by DNA analysis to be an offspring from the territory Loberget. The authority now assesses that the remaining wolves are siblings of the felled wolf.
At present, the County Administrative Board believes that there are no other suitable solutions besides protective hunting to prevent more calves from being thrown or killed because of wolves.
