On Monday, the media were invited to a press preview at the place that will be Karlshamn's new rescue station.

– It feels very good that we are now starting this important project, says Chairman of the Municipal Executive Board Magnus Gärdebring (M).

It involves 220,000 cubic meters of rock – equivalent to up to 500,000 tons – that will be blasted and then transported away from the site.

– The idea is that it will be transported to other properties that will be prepared for the soil, so these masses will be used in other places in the municipality, says construction project manager Joakim Svanhall.

The chairman of the municipal council was impressed by the blast:

"Yes, I have to say, that it was impressive. You probably have to experience that to understand.
