It was in July 2021 that Jeanette Bergström was found dead in her home after a ruthless violence was directed at her. Jeanette's partner was arrested and convicted of murder in the district court.

The Court of Appeal, on the other hand, believes that she may have died of drug poisoning and changes the sentence to extremely aggravated assault and seven years in prison.

Möljen in Hudiksvall was filled with people on Sunday to manifest against the Court of Appeal's changed verdict.

"It's terrible. It feels like a woman's life is worth nothing," says visitor Anna Maria Löfgren.

Daughter: "He will be free in a few years"

One of the speakers at the manifestation was Jeanette's daughter Nathalie, who was taken over the great commitment.

"My mother is dead, but he will be free in a few years. That is wrong. I think it engages many, because it highlights a major social problem that we must address in order not to prevent more women from dying," says Nathalie Bergström.
