- For women there is always a double life.

You have a real life in your home, and another life in public, which is dictated by the social norms we have to obey out of fear, says 37-year-old pastry chef Shahrzad Shokouhivand to the AFP news agency.

In recent weeks, new protests have erupted following reports of schoolgirls being poisoned in school settings around Iran.

Demonstrators have directed criticism at the regime, as it is young women and girls who have been leading the wave of protests that has raged in the country since Mahsa Zhina Amini died in the custody of the Iranian morality police last September.

But despite the prevailing climate in the country, there are women who see a positive change.

The 27-year-old chef Minoo Fard is one of them.

- What I see in women's faces now is very different compared to six months ago, they make men realize that the environment around them is very much influenced by women.
