Intelligence Director Haynes: there is no consensus in the US intelligence agencies about the origin of COVID-19

According to her, there is a consensus in the intelligence community that the pandemic was not the result of the use of biological weapons or genetic engineering.

“Where there is no consensus is whether there was a laboratory leak ... or there was a natural infection from an infected animal,” Haynes added.

She also lamented that the lack of proper cooperation from Beijing is hindering the clarification of the truth.

Earlier, World Health Organization expert Maria van Kerkhove said that the United States refused to provide WHO with access to data and reports that blame China for the COVID-19 pandemic.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning, commenting on FBI data on the alleged laboratory origin of the coronavirus, called for an end to political manipulations on the origin of COVID-19.
