According to Peter Szijjarto, Swedish government officials have been guilty of insulting Hungarian members of parliament, something that Hungary now wants to address in a joint conversation with Sweden.

- To deal with legitimate concerns about this, we have decided to send a delegation to both parliaments who will ask the speakers of the respective parliaments to put together a delegation to discuss this issue, says Peter Szijjarto.

Together with Turkey, Hungary is the two remaining NATO member states that have not yet ratified Sweden and Finland's application.

The Hungarian parliament is expected to vote on Sweden's membership next month.

Last fall, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that the country will approve Sweden and Finland's application in early 2023.
