“The Council of the EU decided to extend for another year the prohibitive measures related to internal repression in Belarus.

The decision was made on the basis of an annual analysis of the situation, ”the text of the official statement says.

Thus, the restrictions will be in effect until February 28, 2024.

It is clarified that the decision was influenced by the involvement of Minsk in the Russian special operation being carried out in Ukraine.

In January, the European Union proposed a new package of sanctions against Belarus.

President of the Republic Alexander Lukashenko said that the attempts of the West to strangle Minsk and Moscow failed.
