Hungary's ratification of Sweden's and Finland's membership in NATO may be further delayed, reports the Reuters news agency.

Previously, a vote in the Hungarian parliament was expected as soon as two weeks, but that will not happen, according to Prime Minister Viktor Orbán's chief of staff Gergely Gulyás.

- According to the Hungarian procedure, it takes about four weeks to adopt legislation.

It follows that parliament can hold the vote in the second half of March, he said at a press conference on Saturday, citing the date of March 21.

In an interview on Friday, Viktor Orbán said he urged parliamentarians in his Fidesz party to give the green light to Sweden and Finland.

But there are still objections and MEPs may need more time to negotiate.

Hungary's ratification decision has already been postponed several times.

At first, Hungary's ratification decision was expected already in the autumn, and now it looks like it will be postponed once more.
