- We are increasing the employability of the Ukrainian refugees who are covered by the mass migration directive, says project manager Lena Grafl, who herself is Ukrainian.

The city mission runs the project, which is financed by the European Social Fund.

The courses are held in Linköping and Norrköping.

One of the goals is to make it easier for Ukrainians to get jobs.

Employment interviews

- This project is fantastic!

For example, we learn how to write CVs and how to, and not to, behave in a job interview, says Yuliia Apolonova, Ukrainian refugee.

She tells more about the escape and the project in the video above.

Many of those who came to Sweden feel bad after their experiences after the invasion.

The project therefore also includes psychosocial support.

Going on an internship

The fact that the Ukrainians are covered by the mass migration directive means that, for example, they are not allowed to go to SFI, Swedish for immigrants.

They also don't get social security numbers, something that makes it difficult for them in everyday life.

Many still try to get jobs to get by financially.

- I'm going to Stockholm today for an interview, says Yuliia Apolonova.

In Norrköping, the project takes place at Hemgården.

It started on February 1 and runs until August 31.

The organizers expect 120 people from all over Östergötland to participate.

During the training, the participants will also receive a six-week internship.

Some within the City Mission's activities, but they also see a great need for contacts with the business world to be able to arrange more internships
