The competence that leaves Nevs if the notification announced on Thursday is implemented is needed in the region.

Both the Employment Agency and local actors agree on the day after the big announcement.

- We have a historic labor shortage in Sweden and we have a huge need for engineers in Trollhättan and the surrounding area, says Alisia Johansson, business advisor at Arbetsförmedlingen Fyrbodal.

Already on Thursday, she was contacted by several companies that are interested in recruiting Nevs staff.

"Hard to find experienced"

SVT Nyheter Väst has been in contact with several companies that share the view that those who are allowed to leave the electric car developer will be in demand on the job market.

Among them is the industrial group GKN Aerospace with around 2,000 employees in Trollhättan.

- The situation on the labor market has been quite tough for a while, and it has been difficult to find experienced people, says Jonas Fyhr, HR manager GKN Aerospace.

At the technology consulting company Sigma Technology Information in Trollhättan, unit manager Malin Andersson was quick to post a new job ad after hearing about Nev's notice.

- There has been a lot of interest, we have already started booking meetings for next week, she says

320 notified

It was at lunchtime on Thursday that the management of Nevs with newly appointed CEO Nina Selander announced that the company is giving notice to 320 out of 340 employees to prevent bankruptcy.

The announcement comes after the company's Chinese owner Evergrande ran aground in negotiations with an unknown buyer.
