The accident was called shortly after 7 p.m. The emergency services, ambulance and police were called to the scene, on county road 360 near Tallåsen.
Two vehicles with a total of five people were involved in the accident.
It is not known how the accident happened.
At least one person is said to be in need of medical care, but it is unclear if more people are injured.
The accident is classified by the police spokesperson as serious.
The road is completely closed during the rescue work, the estimated end time is at 9 p.m., but this is a preliminary time, the Swedish Transport Agency states.
