Ben Wallace: The lie was a show of power

When Ben Wallace, Britain's defense minister, met Russian defense minister Sergei Shoigu in Moscow, Shoigu said, among other things, that Russia was not planning to invade Ukraine.

An example of the Russian term "vranju", that is, an obvious lie, according to Wallace.

- He knew that I understood that he was lying.

I think it was about saying, "I am powerful," says Ben Wallace in Documents from Outside: Putin and the West.
