"Investigators of the Russian Investigative Committee will investigate the facts of shelling by Ukrainian militants of the territories of the Belgorod region and the Voroshilovsky district of Donetsk," the ministry's Telegram channel said in a statement.
Earlier, the headquarters of the territorial defense of the DPR reported that as a result of the shelling of the center of Donetsk by Ukrainian troops, one person was killed and 11 others were injured.
The governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said that a twelve-year-old girl died during the shelling of the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka, Shebekinsky district.
He also reported the death of a girl as a result of the shelling of Novaya Tavolzhanka in the Shebekinsky district.
