Answering a question about the growth of the budget deficit in January, the minister stressed that the main indicator will be the budget balance, which will be formed at the end of the year.
“At the end of the year, we have a plan of 2% of GDP, no one has canceled it, and these parameters will be maintained,” RIA Novosti quotes Siluanov in an interview with Russia 24 TV channel, commenting on the sharp increase in the budget deficit in January.
In January, Russian President Vladimir Putin called Russia's budget deficit figures one of the best among the G20 countries.
