Debates on pension reform continue in the Assembly, in a particularly tense atmosphere.

While Elisabeth Borne asked left-wing deputies on Monday to “withdraw” the “obstruction” amendments, the nupes withdrew nearly a thousand.

There are now 14,000 left on the clock.

The left-wing coalition Nupes announced Monday evening to withdraw "a thousand amendments" to advance in the examination of the pension reform, while the presidential camp continues to denounce "the obstruction".

The left hopes to finish article 2 on the "senior index" in the evening, an indicator to encourage companies to employ older workers.

Nupes had begun to remove amendments before Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne's call for the "withdrawal" of the "obstruction" amendments.

There were still more than 14,000 amendments on the counter after the announcement of the Nupes.
