This was stated by the official representative of the US Department of Defense Patrick Ryder.

According to him, the US European Command sent personnel, equipment, as well as a number of various means to help the Turkish authorities.

“Among them is the George W. Bush aircraft carrier strike group deployed to the eastern Mediterranean,” Ryder was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.

He specified that the crew of the aircraft carrier will provide logistical support to rescuers, medical assistance to the victims, and will also provide their helicopters if necessary.
