Search and rescue teams from about 60 countries have flocked to Turkey since the scale of the catastrophe that befell it as a result of the devastating earthquake began to become evident.

As of Friday afternoon, figures indicate that the number of victims of the earthquake that struck southern Turkey and northern Syria has reached more than 22,000 dead, including more than 19,000 in Turkey, in addition to nearly 78,000 injured.
