“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine strongly protests the inhumane treatment of Ukrainian citizen Mikheil Saakashvili, who is being held behind bars in Georgia… We call on the Georgian authorities to immediately stop mocking Mikheil Saakashvili and hand him over to Ukraine,” the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Earlier, the Minister of Justice of Georgia, Rati Bregadze, said that there were no reasons for the transfer of former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili to the intensive care unit.
The minister stressed that Saakashvili's physiological parameters remain within the normal range.
