In order to strengthen security in cyberspace, the government has established the "Cyber Security System Development Preparation Office" headed by the Cabinet Councilor-General in the Cabinet Secretariat.
In the "National Security Strategy" revised last month, the government plans to reorganize and strengthen the current "Cabinet Cyber Security Center" toward the introduction of "active cyber defense" to prevent cyber attacks.
Under these circumstances, on the 31st, the Cabinet Secretariat established the "Cyber Security System Development Preparation Office" headed by the Cabinet Councilor.
Regarding this, Chief Cabinet Secretary Matsuno said at a press conference in the afternoon, "Given the severe situation in cyberspace in recent years, it is an urgent task to improve the response capabilities in the field of cyber security to the same or higher level as major countries in Europe and the United States. We will continue to consider strengthening our collection and analysis capabilities and establishing a system."
