Tire Nichols was beaten on January 7 of this year by five police officers during an intervention in Memphis, Tennessee.

Three days later he died in the hospital.

This weekend, after the images from the intervention were made public, five police officers allegedly involved in the assault were fired.

Now a spokesperson for the police announces that another police officer has suspended from his work.

What role the suspended police should have had in the intervention is currently unclear.

The images of the beating of Nichols have provoked strong reactions in the United States and have led to large, peaceful, protests in several cities.
