A 28-year-old woman was sentenced by the Clermont-Ferrand Criminal Court (Puy-de-Dôme) for having organized a "free party".

The only person responsible identified, she was sentenced to two fines of 100 and 200 euros.

The rave party took place in January 2022 in a wood near Chanat-la-Mouteyre (Puy-de-Dôme), indicates

on Tuesday.

The defendant described herself as “the spokesperson” for the organizers but assured that she had only “helped” them.

She claimed that it was originally about celebrating multiple birthdays with friends.

Between 160 and 200 revelers eventually showed up.

The young woman admitted to being the owner of three of the 31 speakers confiscated by the police and which will not be returned to her.

She appeared in particular for “night noise”, “traffic of vehicles off open roads and in a protected space”, “endangering the lives of others” for non-compliance with anti-coronavirus measures and “organization of a festive gathering without prior declaration”.

She was found guilty of the first two offences.
