The National Assembly passed the 2023 budget bill of 638,727.6 billion won (based on total expenditure) at a plenary session at dawn today (24th).

Next year's budget bill passed by the National Assembly is 314.2 billion won smaller than the government's bill (639.419 trillion won).

It is the first time in three years since the 2020 budget bill that total expenditures turned to a net decrease during the National Assembly review process.

The 2023 budget was processed over the 22nd of the deadline specified in the constitution (December 2nd).

This is the latest record since 2014, when the National Assembly Advancement Act was enacted.
