A new milestone has been reached regarding the construction of the Varberg tunnel. In the service tunnel that runs parallel to the train tunnel itself, people have now made it all the way through the mountain. This means an facilitation for the remaining work and a halving of future blasting.
- It feels cool and is very big for many of those who have been involved since the beginning a couple of years ago, says Kim Burö, project engineer at the company responsible for the blasts in the two tunnels.
As for a breakthrough in the train tunnel, it will take until spring 2023.
