Two actresses and a theater director were released in Iran on Sunday on bail after ten days of detention for making a video "breaking the law", the Isna news agency reported.

"Theatre director Hamid Pourazari, actresses Soheila Golestani and Faezeh Aeen, were released on Sunday evening," the Isna agency announced.

The first two were accused of having made a video, which has gone viral, in which Soheila Golestani walks in a park, her head bare and dressed in black, stopping at the foot of a staircase and staring at the camera, before to be joined by nine other women and five men, who strike the same pose.

Thousands Arrested During Protests

Iran is the scene of protests sparked on September 16 by the death of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Iranian Kurd, after she was arrested by vice police for allegedly breaking a strict dress code in the Islamic Republic.

The authorities, who denounce "riots" encouraged according to them by the West, have reported thousands of people arrested in connection with the demonstrations.
