Chinese President Xi Jinping has arrived in Saudi Arabia in the Middle East to attend meetings and other events with Arab countries.

China seems to be aiming to keep the United States, which has influence in the region, in check by strengthening ties with the Middle East and Gulf oil-producing countries, which are major crude oil suppliers.

President Xi Jinping arrived in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, on the 7th and was welcomed by Foreign Minister Faisal.

It will be President Xi's first visit to Saudi Arabia since 2016.

According to the Chinese government, President Xi plans to visit Saudi Arabia by the 10th, meet with King Salman, and attend meetings with Arab countries.

"We will take this opportunity to strengthen cooperation with Arab countries, promote mutual development, and raise our voices strongly to safeguard multilateralism," foreign ministry spokesman Mao Ning said at a press conference on the 7th. and emphasized its significance.

Saudi Arabia has a deep cooperative relationship with the United States in terms of security and economics, and in July, President Biden of the United States also visited and met with King Salman.
