The North Korean military said today (6th) that it has detected the situation in which the South is firing multiple rocket launchers and howitzers, and has ordered a response fire.

The North Korean Army's General Staff said in a spokesperson's announcement today that "a situation has been raised that the enemy is again firing multiple rocket launchers and howitzers in the vicinity of the frontline from around 9:15 on the 6th, following yesterday's 5th."

“The General Staff Department issued a combat emergency alert to units at all levels, including the frontline artillery units of the Korean People’s Army, and issued an urgent order to strengthen appropriate surveillance,” he said. "I gave an order to fire live ammunition," he added.

"The enemy side must immediately stop provocative military actions in the area close to the front," the staff said.

It is reported that the military and the USFK are conducting shooting exercises such as multiple rocket launchers (MLRS) in the Cheorwon area on this day following the previous day.

The North Korean military fired about 130 live ammunition at sea for the purpose of warning of countermeasures the day before, blaming the military drills of South Korea and the United States.
