He was immediately taken to the local health center, and with the help of midwives, he gave birth to a healthy daughter, Dewee, who is also in good health.

On this news, the governor of Java, Ridwan Kamil, found Mr. Dewi and congratulated him, and at Mr. Dewi's request to name his child, he named him Pita Shalia Kamil with gold.

Governor Ridwan explained on his Instagram that the child was born during an earthquake, so he was named after the Indonesian word for earthquake, gempa.

He also said that, in addition to Geumpita, two children were born at the shelter, saying, "God gave the grace of having a child born after the ordeal in which many people died."

Local media said that the birth of children is a gift and that it is becoming a hope for many victims in the shelter.

Indonesia's National Disaster Management Agency announced that the death toll from the earthquake was 272 as of 5:00 pm on the 24th (local time), an increase of 1 from 24 hours ago, and about two-thirds of the total deaths were children.
