The Falu-Kuriren was the first to report on the development in the case surrounding 87-year-old Lidiia, who the Migration Agency had previously decided to deport as she "did not make it likely that there is a threat image against her" in Russia.

She lives in Rättvik, together with her daughter and son-in-law.

After her case received media attention, people are starting to recognize her here.

When Lidiia is out for a walk, residents of Rättvik come forward to say hello and express their support, and the family says that many also get in touch by phone.

Recently, the Migration Court decided on deportation.

This means that the Swedish Migration Agency must now carry out a new investigation in Lidiia's case.

According to the court, current and relevant country information regarding conditions in Lidia's home country of Russia was not taken into account when assessing her protection needs.

- The country information that had contributed to the case was dated to the time before the invasion.

The new investigation means that the Swedish Migration Agency will take a position on Lidiia's case based on what I hope will be current country information, says Lidiia's lawyer Cemal Özkan to SVT.

In addition, Lidiia's health condition has worsened in the meantime, which are new reasons that the Swedish Migration Agency must take into account in the new investigation.

- Mother has become much worse.

The prescribed drugs do not help, says Zhanna.
