The G20 summit in Indonesia, where Prime Minister Kishida is attending, will end on the 16th.

On the 17th, Prime Minister Kishida will move to Thailand, his next destination, for the first face-to-face Japan-China summit meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in about three years.

Prime Minister Kishida, who is visiting Bali, Indonesia, attended the G20 Summit, a summit meeting of 20 major countries, and exchanged opinions with the leaders of each country on themes such as "food and energy security."



He called for an immediate cessation of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, arguing that it has had a serious impact on the world economy, including soaring food and energy prices.



The G20 will end on the 16th after a session on the theme of the digitalization of society.



On the 17th, Prime Minister Kishida will travel to Thailand, the last country to visit, where the APEC = Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit is scheduled to be held. Upon arrival, he will hold a summit meeting with President Xi Jinping of China.



This will be the first face-to-face summit meeting between Japan and China in about three years since December 2019, when the Abe administration was in office, and the first for Prime Minister Kishida.



Sino-Japanese relations continue to be in a difficult situation due to issues such as the Senkaku Islands.
