Yesterday morning, His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Judicial Council, chaired the meeting of the Council, which was held in his office in the Dubai International Financial Center, within the framework of His Highness's keenness to follow up the judicial work process in the emirate, and to confirm that all measures are taken. Necessary to achieve the highest levels of transparency, integrity and speed in the completion of litigation procedures, and to guarantee the rights of litigants within the framework of the rule of law.

His Highness said, via a tweet on "Twitter", yesterday: "Today I presided over the meeting of the Dubai Judicial Council and was briefed on its projects, plans and recommendations, and approved the appointment of judges and prosecutors in each of the courts and the Public Prosecution.

Strengthening the rule of law is the basic guarantee for preserving human rights, and our goal is to upgrade the judicial system in Dubai to be the best and most efficient in the world.

During the meeting, His Highness was briefed on the Dubai Judicial Council's plans and future recommendations, and the recommendations that were made during previous meetings.

During the meeting, His Highness the Chairman of the Dubai Judicial Council appreciated the efforts of the members of the Council and their contributions to strengthening the pillars of the judicial system in Dubai, in order to achieve the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, aimed at strengthening the rule of law as the basic guarantee for preserving Human rights, which necessitates continuing work to find all the elements that bring the judicial system in Dubai to the highest levels of performance efficiency, and in accordance with international standards in this regard.

In addition, His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum approved the enrollment of 15 national cadres in the training course of the Dubai Judicial Institute in preparation for their appointment as assistant prosecutors in the Public Prosecution. His Highness also approved the appointment of four national judges in the Dubai Courts, in order to ensure that His Highness provides the judiciary with competencies. The Council approved the appointment of a number of seconded judges from brotherly Arab countries.

His Highness the Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Judicial Council approved the promotion of a number of members of the judiciary who have proven their competence and distinction, in the interest of His Highness to support judicial competencies in the Emirate of Dubai.

On the sidelines of the Dubai Judicial Council meeting, His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum honored the former director of the Judicial Inspection Department, Counselor Abbas Othman Abbas, praising His Highness for his efforts during his term of office, wishing him continued success.
