Three female Emirati students from the Secondary of Applied Technology in Ajman have created a device that controls the balance of boats while facing waves at sea in times of unstable weather, which prevents boats from sinking, and they called the device project "Surviving at sea in emergencies." .

The project supervisor, Hassan Al-Atrash, told «Emirates Today»: "The project was implemented by the students Amna Al-Marzouqi, Ilham Al-Hadrami and Maryam Al-Marzouqi, and it took three months to implement, and the team received great support from the school administration to complete the project."

He explained that the project is a device consisting of a rotating disk, based on a physical principle, which is the conservation of angular momentum, which achieves balance for boats in the face of waves, and the disk is connected to a motor that supplies it with energy to work, which helps stability, stressing that the device is inexpensive, but it achieves a balance. Great for boats at sea.

Al-Atrash added that the project was praised by the jury at the National Science, Technology and Innovation Festival, which was organized by the Ministry of Education at "Expo Dubai 2020,", and then the students were selected in the "Our Ambassadors" program organized by the ministry to represent the country in Britain.

He stated that the project aims to reduce marine accidents by maintaining the angular momentum (consisting of rotation) of the boat, through a small device that can be placed in marine transport ships for use in emergency situations, in order to give boats or ships more balance, and ensure their safety and human safety. on her.
