It is difficult to get hold of a lot of medicines right now.

For many patients, it is fine to switch to a corresponding preparation, but for epileptics, the smallest differences in the concentration of the medicine can trigger seizures.

- There are a lot of people calling.

They have gone to several pharmacies and cannot get their medicine.

They are very worried about seizures and it is a justified concern, says Jonas Lind, senior physician at the medical clinic at Ryhov County Hospital in Jönköping.

Getting worse and worse

In recent years, pharmaceuticals have increasingly become underlisted and Jonas Lind describes it as a system error where prices are so depressed that there are no margins for the companies.

He believes the solution is political decisions to build up own warehouses or put more pressure on the companies.

How does it look going forward?

- It looks very worried.

The trend has been that it just gets worse and worse with residual notes, so we are very concerned.

- And it is time-consuming to help all anxious patients and takes time away from the seriously ill.
