In detail, the Chairman of the Higher Committee for Medical Responsibility, Dr. Abdul Razzaq Al-Madani, stressed that people and centers that treat cancer and incurable diseases with ruqyah, alternative and folk medicine, fall under legal responsibility, as they should push this category of patients to treatment with modern, approved and effective medicine, especially since Claiming that this type of treatment provides healing is a deception.

He stated that the committee had received complaints from patients, who had experienced complications and health damage, due to dealing with people and treatment centers after they followed misleading advertisements, claiming that they are able to treat this type of dangerous diseases.

The President of the Emirates Cancer Society, Professor of Oncology at the University of Sharjah, Humaid Al Shamsi, said that he had received many cases of cancer patients in the late stages, it was proven that they resorted to legal ruqyah treatment, cupping, cauterization, herbs, and other types of alternative and folk medicine, because some of them believed in them. Others are victims of misleading ads.

Al Shamsi pointed out that one of the reasons is also the fear of some cancer patients and their reluctance to start chemotherapy, due to its health effects, stressing that the patient taking his treatment at the beginning of the discovery of the disease is the most important reason for recovery and recovery from it, as well as the treatment limits the disease in its early stages, and prevents the patient from entering the advanced stages. from him.

He stressed the need for patients to understand the nature of their diseases, and the most appropriate treatments for them, as treatment plans are developed based on proven scientific foundations, for each patient according to his condition, and the extent to which the disease can manage it, and it cannot be ignored and resorting to alternative treatments that may double the risks of the disease.

For his part, the consultant oncologist, Vice-President of the Emirates Cancer Society, Dr. Falah Al-Khatib, warned patients with cancer and incurable organic diseases against resorting to any non-scientific treatment proven to have a cure, noting that over 36 years of work as an oncologist, he received dozens of cases, Which went to alternative medicine and ruqyah treatment, and to people and centers who claimed their ability to treat them, but when they returned to scientific treatment, the dream of healing would be gone, and it became difficult for the patient to return to his healthy state, and some of them led them to these practices and his delay in obtaining Appropriate treatment to death.

Al-Khatib attributed these patients' resort to this type of treatment to poor awareness and misleading advertisements for people and centers that claim their ability to treat all diseases, without any scientific studies to prove their allegations.

In turn, the family medicine specialist, member of the Emirates Family Medicine Division, Dr. Ibtihal Makki, confirmed that many patients stop their approved drug treatment, and resort to folk remedies, and some of them resort to cupping and legal ruqyah, thinking that it is an alternative treatment to medicine, and some of them are hospitalized with injuries. They suffer from severe clots and dangerous diseases in the body’s systems, resulting from the wrong treatment, despite the fact that they suffer from diabetes, high blood pressure, and other diseases that require adherence to the approved and proven effective medications, which are essential for their health conditions.

She pointed to another category of patients, who followed misleading treatment methods, such as refraining from eating meat or sugar, based on misleading information, stating that they stopped the growth of cancer cells, and their reluctance to start chemotherapy, which worsened their health conditions, exacerbated their disease, and took them away.
